Yard gate check-in
Yard gate check-in is where the visit record starts — structured capture at gate-in and gate-out so yard map, dock, dwell, and closeout share the same facts. It replaces gate logs, clipboards, and re-keyed spreadsheets.

What gate teams record
Site-configured fields: trailer or container ID, driver, carrier, PO or appointment reference, freight type, documents, and lane direction. Gate-out closes the visit with departure timestamp and audit history for finance and carriers.
Downstream
Why check-in quality matters for the whole yard
Bad gate data propagates — wrong trailer on the map, dwell timers that never start, closeout payloads missing PO lines. YMS gate capture validates required fields before the visit becomes operational for yard and dock teams.
