WMS + YMS integration playbook
Warehouse management owns inventory inside the building. Yard management owns the visit outside it. Integration succeeds when both teams agree on the dock door handoff and gate-out closeout — not when IT tries to duplicate gate capture in the WMS.
Dock handoff
What crosses the dock threshold
YMS sends trailer-at-door with gate-captured PO and freight context. WMS executes receiving or shipping. When WMS completes, YMS records gate-out and sends structured closeout — ASN, receipt confirmation, departure timestamp.

IT checklist
Integration checklist for architects
Document event direction, auth method, and idempotency before UAT. Gate-out is the primary closeout trigger on the connected yard platform.
